Clair`s Family Restaurant in Hanover

Great food; quick service even when they're packedI went by myself on a Saturday morning. I took the only available parking space. Didn't have to wait to be seated or anything. I ordered French toast with sausage AND the Clair's special (two eggs, toast, jelly, home fries, coffee). I was completely stuffed for UNDER $10. I just moved here and I'll be coming back often 😊

Got lunch from Clairs today. My sandwich was good, but my friends salad wasn't. The lettuce in her salad was brown underneath the chicken..

Never in my life have I had to pay $10 for a meal that was pre-made and somehow either the same or worse than what you can get at the grocery store food bar. I'm not sure why this place is popular but since pretty much all of the patrons were on the older side I'm going to guess it's just because it's been around for a very long time in the area and has become The Place To Go To. Only good thing was the ice cream and the employees being very friendly.

It was good to see everyone again. Excellent homemade cooking. Excellent service Nice and welcoming waitresses. Some staff only wore their masks over their mouth, not their noses. Please inform them this is improper and both nose and mouth should be covered to protect them and their clients.

If you love small home town places and that feeling of belonging than this is your place! I took my riding buddies here for breakfast and they were blow away by the food and the prices. Great food doesn't have to cost a small fortune and trust me you will get great food. If you're not into breakfast than they are one of the top spots for ice cream! Great service good down home food reasonable price

We stopped for ice cream here as the dining room hadn't reopened from the COVID-19 situation. Was scheduled to reopen as of July 9, 2020 so you may be able to stop by and enjoy an awesome meal with lots of other folks. This place is always busy. We've never had a meal here, but it's on our list! Ways follow the crowds...and the police - they know where good food is!

Today was our first time here and will be our last. Our waitress was very nice and friendly, but the food left something to be desired. The broasted chicken was over cooked and dry, but very greasy on the outside. It was also under seasoned. The pickled beets and peaches were from a can. The grilled haddock was better. The peas were out of a can and not seasoned and the corn fritters were probably frozen. The dinner rolls were out of a bag and not very good ones at that. The iced tea was one of the best things going. If you want home cooked, not processed food, this is not the place to come.

Just stopped for ice cream to go. Service was quick and very friendly. The place was very busy and more were coming in the door at 3 in the afternoon. Must be a good place to eat !

Nice people, food is very very average. We had lunch-probably good for a nice diner style breakfast. Nothing special at all for lunch.

Their menu includes a weekly schedule of family favorite comfort foods. The staff is friendly and the service is terrific. Their pumpkin ice cream in the Fall is out of this world delicious.

Good food. Soups came out under temp-had to send back for reheating. Main course was not as bad but still not piping hot. Perhaps their warming lamps weren't working.

Food was terrible. Cream of crab soup was like a previous reviewer said “a bowl of lard”... no crab meat at all. My husband ordered 2 crab cakes that were like hockey pucks and very fishy tasting. The ice cream cone was good and our server was very sweet but we will not be back.

I have never had such an awful experience at a restaurant. This has to be one of the most uninviting places I have ever been too. Me and my boyfriend traveled from Philadelphia and were looking for somewhere to grab lunch and we decided to give this restaurant a go because of the reviews but that was a huge mistake. We walked into this restaurant and we were not even acknowledged. We stood near the “please wait to be seated” sign for about 5 minutes and various waitresses walked past us like we were not even there. This was a complete waste of time! For anyone considering giving this place a try do NOT let the number of stars fool you!

Great little diner! Food came out as ordered and was very good. 2 out of 5 in our group had soft serve ice cream for dessert...at breakfast! And to top it all off, Kimberly (sp) was super nice.

Stopped here for breakfast and It was just ok, nothing special. The coffee was good, the service was ok and the food was average. Not in a hurry to go back

A Hanover gem. The service is always friendly, and the food is classic and delicious. The corn fritters and broasted chicken have been my favorite for many years, and I love going whenever I go to town. We often call for pick up to eat at home, but even dine-in service is great.

We went for a few occasions and this place is beautiful and has amazing service and food, I would highly consider this place as anyone's dining space
